Programs and Services

GCHSC’s main goal is to educate and unite the community to help improve pregnancy outcomes, children’s health and development, and women’s health.

1. Programs for Pregnant Moms & Families

We help families by providing free programs based on the needs of the family, not on income or insurance. Our two main programs are Healthy Start and MomCare. Both provide services and support for pregnant women, babies, children, fathers and caregivers.

2. Community Development and Improving Access to Care

GCHSC members offer input to improve the way of life in Gadsden County. The Coalition maintains partnerships with community organizations and individuals who are committed to a common goal: to maximize community resources. By working together, GCHSC partners assess the needs of the community, then develop a plan to deliver quality services, and ensure the plan is functional.

3. Education and Awareness

GCHSC events and classes engage families, health care providers, community agencies, caregivers and more with interactive educational sessions, printed publications and donated items for families in need. GCHSC events also bring key speakers, live performers, community leaders and medical experts to increase awareness and encourage early testing/detection and treatment of preventable health problems.
