RedHEALS Project

The goal of the RedHeals Initiative is to share, identify, and address challenging issues surrounding health risks, self empowerment, and other important concerns facing women and girls in our community.

Why RED? The red ribbon is used to bring awareness mainly to health related issues such as HIV/AIDS, Heart Disease, Stroke, and Substance Abuse.

Acknowledging the strengths of so many who have dealt with sensitive issues, we provide a family-friendly format that is nonjudgmental, yet purposeful. This effort is always presented as a Celebration of Life, ultimately empowering the ladies in our community to Live Healthy!

The “kick off” events for the RedHEALS Project were a health walk and other gatherings where participants wore red sneakers (or shoe laces) and red high heels to remind women and girls of the health related issues we cover. To learn more about our past events, feel free to take a look at our Gallery Page for videos and photos of the RedHEALS Project.
