ABOUT THE COALITION

The Gadsden County Healthy Start Coalition is dedicated to strengthening maternal and child health by ensuring that all Gadsden County families have access to a continuum of affordable and quality health and related services and advocating for public policy initiatives to facilitate those services.

Healthy Start was born in 1991 and is strengthened by local coalitions to reduce Florida’s alarmingly high infant mortality rate.

GCHSC is your gateway to the Maternal and Child Health community. We provide services and support to pregnant women and children [0 to age 3], fathers and families, as well as evaluation and quality improvement efforts to help our community grow and thrive. This is done through:

  • Programs for Pregnant Moms & Families
  • Community Strategies to Improve Services & Access to Care
  • Educational Workshops & Community Events
