Joy L. Anderson, PhD, CHES

Executive Director

Serving in this capacity since 2010, Joy has been actively working to bring awareness to maternal and child health issues that exist in Gadsden County. Stepping outside her day-to-day role with GCHSC, Joy works with local and regional agencies to coordinate an efficient system of care and to improve access to affordable, quality healthcare and transportation services. She served as a consultant to the Gadsden Community Health Council, a member of the Tobacco Free Gadsden Partnership and the Gadsden County Collaborative Management Team. Dr. Anderson’s previous work experience in the county includes serving as the Community Outreach Coordinator for the Gadsden County Health Department. Prior to her arrival in Gadsden County, Dr. Anderson worked with the Center for the Study of Health Disparities at Texas A&M University, the Florida Public Service Commission, and Florida’s Office of the Auditor General. Professional Passion – Working with the community to better the community. Joy’s passion was sparked during early childhood through her involvement in youth activities in Gadsden County.

Carmita McCall, DPA, MPA

Director of Program Development and Accountability

Since 2011, Carmita has served to improve outcomes for the  maternal and child health community. Dr. McCall works with community organizations, local and regional programs, as well as statewide efforts to educate professionals working in healthcare, social work, nursing, and more. Her previous work experience includes compliance and asset management, mentoring and community education,  nonprofit outreach, and more. Carmita also enjoys impacting communities through arts and wellness efforts and youth mentoring.

Adrienne Saintilus

Connecting Families Resource Specialist

Adrienne spearheads GCHSC’s CONNECT Program, a coordinated intake and referral effort that links families to community resources, and coordinates local outreach efforts to improve the quality of life for county residents. Ms. Saintilus enjoys utilizing her skills as a social worker to engage with families and children to ensure they have the support they need. She is also a Child Passenger Safety Technician. Adrienne is an integral part of the success of families and home visiting programs in Gadsden County.

HOME VISITORS & COMMUNITY EDUCATORS

Home Visiting services are provided by dedicated and qualified professionals who work diligently to serve Gadsden County families. The Healthy Start and Nurse Family Partnership teams consist of professionals with backgrounds in the areas of  social work, nursing, and more. Home Visitors provide face-to-face assessments, education and ongoing care coordination, and other services to clients. They also make outside referrals, work to ensure clients are connected with a medical home, and collaborate with other agencies to assist with client needs. In addition to providing home visiting services, these professionals also assist with community education efforts, events, and other GCHSC initiatives.

COMMITTEE MEMBERS & VOLUNTEERS
In addition to the administrative staff and home visiting teams, the Coalition continues to thrive due to the hard work and dedication of its Committee Members and Community Volunteers. This group of faithful individuals includes professionals in the areas of administration and education, as well as community organizations, local residents, moms and dads, and more.
