It helps determine your baby’s needs. It’s easy… it’s important for your baby… and it’s confidential!

>>Remember: This is a separate screen than Healthy Start for Moms.
The information comes from your baby’s Birth Certificate automatically.

Healthy Start legislation requires that ALL pregnant women and infants be offered screening for risk factors that may affect their pregnancy, health or development. The prenatal and postnatal Healthy Start risk screens assess risk factors for adverse health outcomes so that identified individuals may then be referred more expeditiously to the appropriate services for their needs.

*NOTE: Just by saying yes to the screen, you help us bring needed
services to this area.*

The screening instruments were developed by a workgroup including physicians, nurses, social workers, researchers, program specialists and other professionals knowledgeable in the maternal and child health field.
